In August last year, actress Han Ji Min, who is known for her roles in 'The Age of Shadows,' 'Miss Baek,' and 'Detective K: Secret of the Virtuous Widow,' confirmed that she was in a relationship with Jannabi's vocalist, Cho Jung Hoon.
While the news had been met with a lot of celebratory and supportive messages, there had been many that had started spreading malicious content against her. In a related case, a 30-year-old anonymous woman has been indicted and referred to court on the grounds of defamation.
Woman referred to court for spreading hate against Han Ji Min
As per Chosun Ilbo reports shared on October 29, a woman in her 30s, who has only been named as Lee, was referred to court for an ongoing case regarding Han Ji Min.
The Criminal Division 5 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutor' Office indicted the woman without detention on October 20 earlier this month.
What had she been indicted on?
The woman has been accused by Ji Min's agency of posting malicious and defamatory content against the actress. She allegedly used her social media accounts to post around 19 messages about the star and even included comments such as "I will sabotage Han Ji Min's movie." She also proceeded to tag the actress as well as her loved ones and acquaintances in these posts as well.
The comments were posted online between September and October and are said to be related to Han's announcement of her relationship with Cho Jung Hoon.The case was initially filed in November by the actress and her management agency. The Gangnam Police Station forwarded the case later to the prosecutors' office in March this year after conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.No official date has been set for the first hearing in the case.
