Woman jumps to death from apartment building

A 40-year-old woman allegedly jumped off her apartment building at Chatrinaka on Saturday night.

Chatrinaka police said that Boinala Swetha, a resident of Gowlipura, was estranged from her husband and was residing with her parents for the last five years.

“She got married about 15 years ago and has two children aged 13 years and seven years. Preliminary enquiry revealed that she had constant domestic disputes with her husband,” police said.

On Saturday night, she allegedly went to the terrace of the building and jumped to death from the top floor. “She was rushed to a nearby hospital by her family, where she succumbed while undergoing treatment,” police said.

A case was booked under Section 194 (suspicious death) of the BNSS Act and a probe was launched.
