Woman killed, 20 injured in lorry, RTC bus collision

One woman was killed and 20 others suffered injuries when a lorry collided with an APSRTC bus near Owk in Nandyal district on Tuesday (October 28, 2025). The bus was proceeding to Tadipatri from Banganapalle when it was hit by a lorry coming from the opposite direction. The deceased was identified as Chakali Lakshmi Devi (55).

Collector Rajakumari Ganiya said that the bus driver and another passenger were shifted to Nandyal government general hospital for better treatment while 14 others were treated at the Owk community health centre.

Minister for Roads and Buildings B.C. Janardhan Reddy, who is in Mumbai on an official visit, enquired about the incident with the district administration and asked them to provide better treatment to the injured. He asked police and revenue officials to enquire into the reasons that led to the incident.
