Woman raises allegations against young political leader

A young woman has alleged that a young political leader in Kerala had sent her obscene messages nearly three-and-a-half years ago.

The woman took to the media on Wednesday. The allegations may set off a political storm in the State considering the gravity of the accusations raised against the young leader.

The woman, who stopped short of naming the leader, dropped hints about his identity and alleged that he had approached her in an inappropriate manner and continued to send her obscene messages. She said that she came into contact with him over social media.

The woman alleged that the young leader took a “who cares” attitude when she warned him. She alleged that she did not get justice from his party’s leadership, though she took up the matter with them. It was up to his party to decide whether he should continue as an elected representative, she said.

She alleged that a few other women had experienced similar behaviour from the person, though they had refused to reveal it fearing public backlash.
