Woman, son found dead near Dharmapuri

DHARMAPURI: A woman and her two-year-old son were found dead near Pappireddipatti in Dharmapuri district on Thursday. Police suspect Sandiya Bai, 32, of Madhya Pradesh killed her son, Pravesh, and died by suicide over an issue with her husband, Bhavan Singh, 35. The couple, who hail from Anuppur district in Madhya Pradesh, stayed in a rented house at Bommidi near Dharmapuri. Bhavan Singh was employed at a textile mill in the area. According to the Bommidi police, Sandiya Bai had recently told neighbours that she wanted to go back to her native place. There were repeated arguments between the couple over the issue. “On Wednesday night, Bhavan Singh went to work. When he came back on Thursday morning, he found the door locked from the inside,” a police officer said.He broke open the house with the help of neighbours and found the bodies of Sandiya Bai and Pravesh hanging. On being alerted, the Bommidi police arrived at the spot and sent the bodies to Dharmapuri Government Medical College and Hospital for postmortem. Further investigations are on.
