Several bicycling enthusiasts participated in the Tiranga cycle rally, organised in Mysuru on Sunday as part of the World Bicycle Day celebrations.
The rally, which was flagged off from Chamundi Vihar stadium in Mysuru around 7 a.m., reached Deputy Commissioner’s office before returning to the stadium by 7.45 a.m.
It was organised by the Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports, Amateur Cycling Association, Mysuru District Administration, Mysuru Zilla Panchayat, and Mysuru Athletic Club.
The objective of the programme was to encourage people to set aside at least 30 minutes every day for their health and promote the use of bicycles as a means of transport to maintain good health, a statement noted.
A number of sportspersons, students, cyclists, and general public participated in the rally.
