Aryna Sabalenka’s Indian Wells preparations have taken a joyful turn, and tennis fans cannot stop talking about it. The world No. 1 shared a happy personal update this week, announcing on social media that she is now engaged to her boyfriend Georgios Frangulis.

Soon after, congratulatory messages arrived from across the tennis world, including wishes from Ben Shelton and Novak Djokovic.

Sabalenka confirmed the engagement in her Instagram caption, keeping the message simple but heartfelt. "You & me, forever. 3.3.26," the WTA world No. 1 captioned her Instagram post. The relationship between Sabalenka and Brazilian businessman Georgios Frangulis first became public in mid-2024. Since then, he has been a regular presence in her player box during tournaments, traveling with her across the tour as her support system during a demanding season.

The engagement also comes after a lighthearted moment earlier this year. After winning the Brisbane International final to begin the 2026 season with a title, Sabalenka jokingly put a little pressure on her partner during the trophy ceremony. “Thank you to my boyfriend... Hopefully, soon I can call you something else. Let us put some extra pressure,” the 27-year-old joked during her Brisbane trophy speech.Sabalenka has also shown her playful side when the topic of proposals comes up.

During one of her matches at the 2025 US Open, a couple got engaged in the crowd, prompting the two-time champion to share a funny reaction afterward. “I looked at my boyfriend. No pressure!” the world No. 1 joked at the time. While celebrating love, Sabalenka has also been open about her future plans beyond tennis. During a press conference at the Australian Open earlier this year, she spoke about the possibility of starting a family one day.

"Talking about myself, I mean, I'm not sure. I cannot say anything because you never know. You don't know what's waiting for you tomorrow. Ideally for me, I would love to maybe have kids at 32 or something," the Belarusian said at the Australian Open. The engagement marks a happy chapter after a difficult period in Sabalenka’s personal life. Her previous partner, Belarusian ice hockey player Konstantin Koltsov, passed away in March 2024. Months later, after withdrawing from Wimbledon due to injury, she referred to Frangulis as the “love of my life.”
