Ayodhya, the sacred birthplace of Lord Ram, is about to add a new chapter to its rich tapestry of history and culture. This year, during the grand Deepotsav celebrations, the city will unveil the world's first Ramayana-themed wax museum, a tribute to the epic that has shaped the spiritual and cultural landscape of India.
This is as per the Chief Minister’s Office press release, as ANI reported.Spanning over 9,850 sq ft and constructed at a cost of INR 6 crore, the museum is designed in the South Indian architectural style, featuring 50 lifelike wax statues that bring to life key episodes from the Ramayana. From Ram Lalla's childhood to the epic Ram-Ravana war, each scene is meticulously crafted to transport visitors back to the Treta Yuga.
The ground floor showcases scenes like Sita's swayamvar, while the first floor depicts the exile, Lanka Dahan, and the Ram-Ravana war.

More than just wax figures
This isn't just a collection of statues; it's an immersive experience. Visitors will be greeted by the divine ambience of the Treta Yuga and the melodious chants of 'Ram Tarak Mantra' and Ram bhajans, creating a spiritual ambiance. The museum also features 3D light effects that illuminate scenes such as the forests of exile, Sita's abduction, and Ravana's defeat, adding a dynamic layer to the storytelling.
For those looking to capture memories, a special selfie point has been created beside the child Ram's wax statue, allowing visitors to take photos with the deity. Safety first
The museum is equipped with state-of-the-art security features, including 24x7 CCTV surveillance, a fire system connected to four emergency exits, and a fully air-conditioned environment maintained at 22°C.
Entry is limited to 100 visitors at a time, with an entry fee of ₹100, ensuring a comfortable and secure visit.The inauguration of this museum during Deepotsav 2025 marks a significant milestone in Ayodhya's journey to becoming a global center for spiritual tourism.
