The world's largest container ship, MSC IRINA, has docked at the Vizhinjam International Seaport in Kerala, marking a significant milestone for India's newest deepwater port. This is the first time a container ship of this size has arrived at an Indian port. The vessel, capable of carrying 24,346 TEUs (20-foot equivalent units), holds the world record for the highest container capacity. Operated by Adani Ports, Vizhinjam is India's first mega trans-shipment container terminal, strategically located near busy east-west shipping lanes.
