John Cena wins at Clash in Paris (Image via WWE)
The penultimate match of the night at Clash in Paris belongs to John Cena and Logan Paul. Cena, who is currently on his Farewell tour, is the favorite among the crowd, and Paul is, as usual, met with boos from the audience.
But it was not going to be an easy fight for either hard-hitters, as both the Cenation Leader and The Maverick came in tonight to give everyone a show to remember.
John Cena and Logan Paul give audiences a possible Match of the Year
John Cena has 98 wins under his belt in the WWE as he comes out to face off against Logan Paul for the big event, second only to The Undertaker. This fight, if he wins, takes him one more step closer to having a total of 100 wins in his career as a professional wrestler. But even without this record, it would be important for the wrestler-turned-actor to show everyone that he is one of the greatest ever in this business.
Paul, on the other hand, has a lot to prove - the most important being to silence his haters and show everyone that he is not an outsider.
Paul is the first to enter in all his glory, hyped for the upcoming fight. But inevitably, he gets the boos as the crowd chants "Cena" over and over again. Next, it's Cena's turn, who makes his signature entry with "The Last Time is Now" sign, and the crowd goes absolutely wild as soon as his music starts playing.
The match starts with both men trying to gain the upper hand - and it is Paul who takes control of the situation after a while.
But Cena is not one to bow down easy. Though Paul tries to take Cena out on multiple occasions, the latter manages to kick out before the third count for all of them. And although Logan Paul went toe to toe with the Greatest of all Time, Cena is the GOAT for a reason.
John Cena is the winner of the night
From a blockbuster to a vertical suplex to a gutwrench powerbomb to so much more, Logan Paul hits John Cena with 'em all.
But it's futile, as Cena manages to overcome them all. Cena on the other hand, hits a few shoulder tackles, Attitude Adjustments, clothesline, and more, and Paul is still standing at the end of them all. When Cena goes for another AA, Paul manages to turn it into an Overbomb, but Cena still manages a kickout.
The match is not what anyone expected, with both men giving the audience one of the best performances of the year. Paul lands a pair of Paul From Graces, but Cena survives them all.
At last, it is once again an Attitude adjustment that gives Cena the win for the night and defeats Logan Paul after an absolutely brilliant match.
In the last moments after the fight, which he won in a spectacular fashion, Cena first poses with the "toxic" meme kid, kisses his wife, and then hugs Jelly Roll before coming back to celebrate with an absolutely maniacal audience to end the segment.
