WWE fans react to confirmation of 2025 Survivor Series to be based around War Games

The longest-running pay-per-view event in the history of WWE, after WrestleMania, is returning with its 39th edition, as San Diego gets ready to hold the Survivor Series this year. The 2025 Survivor Series: WarGames, or the Survivor Series: WarGames San Diego, will be held on November 29, 2025, at Petco Park in San Diego, California.

And WWE has finally made confirmation that the Survivor Series will once again be based on the War Games format, hence the name.

On June 30, 2025, WWE finally announced ticket sales for the November 29 event, set to be held in San Diego. The official announcement also included the official title for the event, which is Survivor Series: WarGames, thus confirming that the War Games are returning this year as well. This will be the fourth consecutive Survivor Series that will feature men's and women's WarGames matches.

From John Cena, Cody Rhodes, and CM Punk to Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch, the Survivor Series will have the who's who from the wrestling world, and will once again be held during the Thanksgiving weekend. But what caught the attention of many fans is that Roman Reigns has also been advertised for this event, making this event even more exciting. WWE has been teasing the return of Roman Reigns after he went completely dark since that attack on him after WrestleMania by Seth Rollins, Paul Heyman, and Bron Breakker.

Fans react to War Games returning for Survivor Series for the fourth time

This will be the fourth time in a row that the War Games format will return for the Survivor Series, and fans have their opinions on the matter. While some like the team vs team style of the match, others preferred the initial tag team elimination style.

While many would prefer to have the brand vs brand show back, it looks like Triple H is still hoping to make it work with the War Games pattern. This year, the event will be held in Petco Park, making it the first-ever Survivor Series event to be held in an outside venue, as well as the first to be held in a stadium. Wrestlers from both the RAW and SmackDown divisions of the company will be in attendance, hoping to make it an eventful night for the fans.
