It has been more than a year, and there have been many twists and turns in Vince McMahon and Janel Grant’s high-profile case. But now, this case has taken an odd turn. Vince McMahon has opposed Janel Grant’s legal team from obtaining new evidence from them.

This move occurs before the court decides on the lawsuit filed by Ms.

Grant. The court would decide whether her case would go to a private arbitration. A private arbitration is an out-of-court settlement where a third-party arbitrator decides on the case. If there is nothing to hide, then why stop Ms. Grant from obtaining evidence? Only if there is something to hide, one would want to keep it under wraps, right?

Janel Grant denied gathering new evidence against Vince McMahon in the Vince McMahon s*x trafficking scandal

Janel Grant’s lawyers requested new evidence in the form of internal WWE and Vince McMahon communications, like board documents, NDA drafts, and other materials gathered by federal investigators.

This evidence would have helped Ms. Grant’s lawyers in challenging the private arbitration clause. Instead, McMahon’s legal team said, “The court should refuse to indulge in Plaintiff(Ms. Grant)’s improper fishing expedition and deny the motion in full. Grant is not entitled to motion-related discovery.

She has entirely failed to allege sufficient facts calling in question the validity of the arbitration provision.”

One of the latest developments also included that Ms. Grant had dropped her charges against John Laurinaitis

On May 28, 2025, a statement was released on behalf of Grant and Laurinaitis:“John Laurinaitis has agreed to cooperate and provide evidence in Janel Grant’s lawsuit against Vince McMahon and WWE. His agreement to a confidential settlement is a pivotal next step toward holding McMahon and WWE accountable and bringing justice to Ms. Grant after years of sexual abuse and trafficking. Mr. Lauranaitis looks forward to moving on with his life.

We cannot provide any additional details at this time.

On May 28, McMahon’s attorney Jessai Rosenberg responded:“Today's dismissal of John Laurinaitis as a defendant doesn’t alter the facts of this case in any way. Vince McMahon never mistreated Janel Grant. No matter how many press releases her team issues, the truth remains unchanged. As Mr. Laurinaitis’ lawyer said: Mr. Laurinaitis corroborates Mr. McMahon in publicly declaring that Ms.

Grant’s allegations of sexual abuse and coercion in her complaint are completely unfounded.

What were the gory details of the Vince McMahon s*x trafficking scandal?

The first line of the 67-page lawsuit against 79-year-old WWE Founder Vince McMahon reads, “Ms. Grant is filing this lawsuit not just to address her own suffering, but also to act for those who are afraid to speak out.”It was in May 2024 when Janel Grant, a former WWE employee, filed a lawsuit against McMahon and a former WWE Head of Talent Relations, John Laurinaitis. Ms. Grant alleges that she was sexually assaulted and trafficked and made to sign an NDA to never divulge any of the gory details of her assault. What were the gory details?

  • In May 2020, Janel Grant, Vince McMahon, and a friend of McMahon indulged in a threesome where, at one point, McMahon defecated on Grant’s head.
  • In June 2021, John Laurinaitis and Vince McMahon cornered Janel Grant and pulled her in between them, forcibly touched her, put her on top of a table, and took turns while forcing themselves on her.
  • The assault continued till 2022, when McMahon’s wife, Linda, found out about it and threatened to divorce him.
  • Grant was then made to sign an NDA and was awarded $3 million to remain silent.

WWE Attorneys of Vince McMahon have filed a new appeal for Janel Grant to drop the case

On July 1, AC Nicodemus of ITR Wrestling reported that the WWE attorneys of Vince McMahon have filed a new appeal for former WWE employee, Ms.

Janel Grant, to drop the case.

B. J. Bethel, a Writer and Columnist at SEScoops, tweeted on July 1,“Reps for Janel Grant provided a statement on the filings by WWE and Vince McMahon opposing discovery before the arbitration hearing.” and shared an image which read: “Vince McMahon and WWE are attempting to block basic discovery requests that go the heart of whether the NDA and its arbitration clause are valid. If they have nothing to hide, they should embrace this opportunity for transparency.”Also Read: Charlotte Flair offered a major proposal ahead of WWE Evolution 2025 | WWE News - Times of India
