Monday Night RAW (Image via WWE)
The August 25 edition of Monday Night RAW happened at the BP Pulse LIVE in Birmingham, England. This is the second event in Europe on the way to France before the Clash in Paris fever takes over. There are quite a few thrilling matches set for the night, and the crowd is deafening, especially with Roman Reigns set to kick off the show. The night started with The OTC coming in to greet the audience in Birmingham. The crowd was loud and absolutely thrilled to have Roman Reigns there. He adds a little nostalgia to the night by saying it feels like old times and sounds like old times. But then he backtracks, saying it isn’t old times anymore, and he isn’t the same man he used to be. He also said that he doesn't have the Bloodline anymore, but acknowledged Jey Uso and his accomplishments, saying he was proud of him.Reigns adds that Cody Rhodes had predicted it a year and a half ago, and Seth Rollins and his team followed through on that and took everything from him. He goes to address Bronson Reed and his upcoming fight with the Australian wrestling star, but before he can do so, Paul Heyman and Reed make their entrance. Heyman is a master of words, and says that it was five years ago this week that Brock Lesnar’s advocate became Roman Reigns’ wise man.
Some more words are exchanged before Reigns says there is no need to wait until Clash in Paris, and of course, The Tribal Thief, with his Shoela-fala, runs in to the ring to attack Reigns. Their fight was a good start to the night, with referees and RAW General Manager Adam Pearce trying to break them up. This is a good preview of their upcoming fight in Paris, and fans are excited for the rest of the night.
Dragon Lee vs. JD McDonagh
Before the singles match between LWO's Dragon Lee and The Judgment Day's JD McDonagh starts, as he and Finn Balor are walking up to the stage, they encounter Dominik Mysterio with El Grande Americano.
But Mysterio is quick to send them their way, saying he had everything under control and would catch up with them later. Soon after, fans see both Lee and McDonagh making their way into the ring.
The fight starts with both men locking up. They exchange chops and slaps with each other before Lee goes for a Kick and a Dragon Screw, followed by another kick and a leg sweep. Balor tried to interfere, but the referee saw him and kicked him from the ringside area. McDonagh hit a Superplex, but soon Lee was back in control. Mysterio, too, tried to interfere, but AJ Styles sent him packing, which led to Lee taking the win with an Operation Dragon. Dragon Lee wins via pinfall. Backstage, we see Jackie Redmond asking LA Knight about CM Punk. She asks about Punk sending him through the table, and Knight says he is sure it was intentional on Punk's part. He also says that it’s “feast or famine” at Clash In Paris, and he will send Punk hungry at the end of the match. But for tonight, he is excited to come up against Bron Breakker.
We also see the Judgment Day exchanging a few heated words backstage as Balor jumps on Mysterio, saying he thought Dom had McDonagh's back.
Raquel Rodriguez calms everyone down, saying Liv Morgan would not have wanted them fighting among themselves. Mysterio then suggests Balor should take care of Styles tonight, who says he will ask Adam Pearce for a fight tonight.
Penta vs. Kofi Kingston
The second fight of the night is a singles match between Luchador Penta, and New Day member, Kofi Kingston. The latter backs Penta into the corner, but misses a punch; the Mexican star, though, goes for a series of chops.
He then hits a head scissors followed by a clothesline, but Kofi recovers to punch Penta from the apron to send him into the turnbuckles.
Grayson Waller tries to distract Penta from the ringside, but the latter is hardly bothered. Penta then hits a suplex and a Penta Driver then goes for a super kick, but instead of Kofi Kingston, it's Waller who takes the last hit after pushing his team member out of the way. Waller then distracts Penta and Kofi pulls him off the turnbuckles to hit a Trouble in Paradise for the win.Kofi Kingston wins via pinfall.Backstage, we see IYO SKY meeting up with Rhea Ripley, who has a match coming up against Roxanne Perez tonight. Sky says that because Ripley helped her in her last fight, things with Asuka and Kairi Sane have been hard. She doesn't want to fight with her family, and says they should keep some distance for now. Mami is understanding, and they part ways with a hug and best of luck from Iyo to Rhea. Unfortunately, the Kabuki Warriors saw them together, but we're not close enough to hear their conversation.
We also see Stephanie Vaquer having a conversation with Adam Pearce. Vaquer was set to face Naomi in Paris, but now with her having relinquished the title because of her pregnancy, the match is not happening. Pearce, though, tells her not to be disappointed and just needs a week to brush up on the details, and will have a match ready for her soon. The next segment starts with Becky Lynch coming onto the stage. She says it was in Birmingham that she had their first tryout for the WWE, but of course, Becky being Becky, followed that up with - it was a dump then, it is a dump now. She goes on to rip into Nikki Bella, saying she wasn't going to fight anyone willy-nilly just because someone asked for it.
Right then, Nikki makes her entrance, and their exchange is heated.
Bella then drops the bomb - the challenge is on for Clash in Paris, where she will fight Becky Lynch for the Intercontinental Championship title. Lynch accepts and then hits her opponent with a cheap shot, but Nikki was ready. Things stop before they can escalate. But we now have a confirmed match card between these two heavyweights in Paris. Backstage, Jackie Redmond interviews CM Punk, who says he is not trying to be anyone's friend here.
He is focused on his upcoming fight - a fatal four-way match against Seth Rollins, Jey Uso, and LA Knight. He wanted everyone (Uso and Knight) on the same page, but they aren't interested. It didn't matter anymore, as he was going to get that win anyway possible.
Rhea Ripley vs. Roxanne Perez
Rhea Ripley and Roxanne Perez take to the stage for the next match of the night, with Raquel Rodriguez at ringside to support her tag team partner. While Ripley definitely has the size advantage, Perez came in with a lot of aggression, which seems to have surprised Ripley.
But whenever it felt like Mami had the upper hand, Perez would go off to the ringside for small breaks.Rodriguez made a distraction, leading to Perez going for a suicide dive. The Prodigy looked to be in control for a while and even took out The Eradicator's knee and later tried to force a submission from Ripley, but the latter managed to come back to the game. At the end, she blocked a side Russian leg sweep and retaliated with a head butt followed by a Riptide for the win. Rhea Ripley wins via pinfall.
After the match, unsurprisingly, Rodriguez attacks Ripley. It's a numbers game, and the crowd begins to chant for Iyo, who runs in to save her friend. They take down the Judgment Day partners in style, and the crowd goes wild as Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley stand tall at the end. But backstage is a different scene, as after Mami leaves with a thank you to Sky, the Kabuki Warriors come in and Asuka rips into Iyo for once again coming to The Eradicator's aid.Next up, The Vision crew is shown backstage, where Seth Rollins hypes up his members - Bron Breakker has a match coming up against LA Knight later tonight, and Bronson Reed is gearing up to face Roman Reigns in Clash in Paris after a heated start to tonight's show.
AJ Styles vs. Finn Balor
The next singles match is between AJ Styles and Finn Balor. It starts with Balor kicking Styles and sending him to the floor. AJ then comes up with a Phenomenal Drop Kick, sending Finn to the floor.
The Judgment Day members hit an Irish whip while Styles goes for a boot and a forearm. Both look evenly matched, and it's a good show from start to end.
In the last moments of the fight, Balor goes up top but misses the Coup de Grace because Styles moves. The Phenomenal One tries to go for the Calf Crusher, but his opponent rolls through. Finally, Styles hits a Styles Clash to take the win.AJ Styles wins via pinfall.Backstage we see Jey Uso and Roman Reigns in a conversation.
Uso says he doesn't know who to trust, and who understands that better than The OTC. Reigns says that Uso has helped everyone all these years, now he has to do it for himself.
Kofi Kingston cuts a promo, saying celebrations are in order after his win against Penta against all odds. He says that he has now avenged Xavier Woods and made Penta pay for his sins. Woods is also there and tells the audience to shut up, who booed him. They don't want to be here, and will soon return to America, and the fans should be thankful that they got to see the New Day.Bayley cuts a promo, once again talking about the voices she hears and wants them to stop. Next, we see Lyra Valkyria talking to Adam Pearce, where she tells him she is worried about Bayley. Dom and JD show up next and say they want to talk to Pearce about AJ Styles. Mysterio says that Styles has been stalking him and this has to end. To this, Pearce decides that next week on RAW, Dominik Mysterio will face AJ Styles for the Intercontinental Championship.
Backstage, Roman Reigns attacks Bron Breakker in the back and hits a Superman punch on Bronson Reed. Pearce tells Breakker to get to the stage, but Knight attacks him with a punch, before sending him into a storage case. The match seems like it will be fought backstage instead of the ring. But after a lot of back and forth, the two are finally inside the ring.
LA Knight vs. Bron Breakker
The fight officially starts with LA Knight kicking Bron Breakker in the corner, followed by a running knee.
Their fight is aggressive as both look equally pissed off. There are some hits, some misses, and the crowd is enjoying all of it. Knight hits a drop kick through the ropes, Breakker retaliates by sending Knight into the announce desk. Knight almost gets a rollup for a near fall.
Knight goes for a few punches while Breakker leaps up and hits the Frankensteiner for a near fall. He then sets up a spear, but Knight manages to block it.
The Vision member goes for a press slam, but Knight counters with a DDT, and tried to take some time to recover. But then Seth Rollins comes in to distract Knight, which lef to Beakker hitting him with a huge Spear at ringside, followed by a second Spear to take the win. Bron Breakker wins via pinfall.
Both Jey Uso and CM Punk come in to aid LA Knight and drive off Rollins. They manage to drive off The Vision but the show ended with Uso taking out Punk and Knight once everyone else was gone. And that's curtains for the last Monday Night RAW before Clash in Paris on August 31.Also Read: WWE Clash in Paris 2025: All Confirmed Matches, Date, Venue, Start Timings, and More
