Randy Orton defeats Drew McIntyre in the opening match of SNME

Following WWE Night of Champions 2025, which concluded with scintillating performances and intense feuds that led to more storyline developments, the Stamford-based promotion is set to host another major event this week, Saturday Night’s Main Event (SNME).

The event went live at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, and opened the match with an intense feud between Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton. As Drew McIntyre returned to SmackDown to interrupt Orton and Cody Rhodes on July 4. During the SmackDown match, The Viper, however, was not in the mood for The Scottish Psychopath and responded with an RKO out of nowhere, setting the stage for what should be another classic collision between the rivals. This was followed by a retaliation by McIntyre in last week’s SmackDown on July 11, when Drew McIntyre also entered the mix by delivering a Claymore Kick to The Viper. Logan Paul attempted to attack Orton further, but Jelly Roll stopped him. This confrontation led Randy Orton to lock horns with Drew McIntyre, accompanied by Logan Paul and Jelly Roll.

Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre kicked off the show with a solid match that advanced WWE’s plan for a future tag bout featuring Orton and Jelly Roll against McIntyre and Logan Paul. The "Save Me" singer walked Orton to the ring, returning the favor after helping him during a SmackDown assault.

Meanwhile, Logan Paul balanced the situation by escorting McIntyre.

During the match, Drew continued the onslaught, asking what had happened to Orton as the Viper refused to budge on the thudding chest chops to take down McIntyre, who fires back with a Glasgow kiss.Following this, Orton delivered the vintage powerslam and chased Drew ringside to deliver two back-to-back slams on the announce desk. In the third one, Orton confronted Logan. Drew McIntyre tried capitalizing and targeting Randy's throat, but the Viper connects with the vintage draping DDT and it's RKO time now.

Meanwhile, Paul and Jelly Roll then clashed at the ringside, with Paul shoving the musician multiple times. In response, Roll retaliated by knocking Paul down. This chaos diverted McIntyre's attention long enough for Orton to strike with an RKO and secure the victory. Also Read: WWE Evolution (07/13/25) preview and streaming details: Full match card, confirmed segments, how to watch, start timings, and moreBut the match did not end there, after the bell, Logan Paul attacked Orton and pinned him into the ring.
