Rhodes pinned McIntyre to win the Undisputed WWE Championship in the main event of SmackDown at the Moda Center in Portland and will head to Wrestlemania as the champion.

WWE SmackDown aired its March 6 episode from the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon. The show followed the events of the Elimination Chamber premium live event and featured several matches and storylines building toward WrestleMania 42.

The night included title matches, surprise appearances, and new rivalries taking shape. The biggest moment came in the main event, where Cody Rhodes faced Drew McIntyre for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

Randy Orton Drops Trick Williams With An RKO

The show began with Randy Orton, who spoke about the 2026 Men’s Elimination Chamber match and his plans moving forward. He said he was looking forward to finding out who his next opponent would be later in the night.

During the segment, Trick Williams interrupted Orton and began talking trash. Orton did not take long to respond. The veteran superstar quickly hit Williams with his signature RKO, leaving him laid out in the ring.

Carmelo Hayes Keeps US Title After Open Challenge

Later in the show, Carmelo Hayes issued an open challenge for the WWE United States Championship. AAA star Dr. Wagner stepped up to accept the challenge.

The match turned into one of the most exciting contests of the night. Both wrestlers exchanged several strong moves as the crowd stayed fully engaged throughout the bout. In the end, Hayes managed to gain the upper hand and hit “Not But Miss" on Wagner to secure the win and successfully retain his title.

Charlotte Flair And Alexa Bliss Win Tag Team Match

Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss teamed up to face Kiana James and Giulia in a tag team match. The match was set up after both teams interrupted the celebration of the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Nia Jax and Lash Legend.

The contest moved quickly with both teams trading attacks. In the final moments, Charlotte Flair hit Giulia with the Natural Selection to secure the victory for her team.

Tag Team Turmoil Decides New Title Challengers

A Tag Team Turmoil match was held to determine the next number one contenders for the WWE Tag Team Championships.

The match started with The Motor City Machine Guns taking on Fraxiom. Axiom managed to pin Alex Shelley despite Chris Sabin’s attempt to stop the fall, which eliminated the Motor City Machine Guns.

Los Garza then entered the match and eliminated Fraxiom and Wyatt Sicks. In the final moments, the contest came down to Los Garza, R-Truth, and Damian Priest. The new team secured the win after scoring a double pinfall.

Oba Femi Defeats Johnny Gargano Quickly

Johnny Gargano later came to the ring and issued an open challenge to anyone in the locker room. Oba Femi answered the challenge.

The match did not last long. Femi dominated Gargano and quickly defeated him, picking up a straightforward win.

Cody Rhodes Defeats Drew McIntyre To Win The Title

The main event featured Drew McIntyre defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against Cody Rhodes. Both wrestlers delivered strong attacks as the match became increasingly intense.

Near the end of the match, both referees were taken out during the action. McIntyre tried to use a chair, but Jacob Fatu stepped in and stopped him.

McIntyre attempted another Claymore Kick, but Rhodes avoided it and responded with the Cody Cutter. He then hit the Cross Rhodes to finish the match and win the Undisputed WWE Championship.
