Tonight’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown is the final stop before WWE Wrestlepalooza 2025. The show was aired live from the Huntington Center in Toledo, Ohio, and featured quite an array of top stars from the Blue Brand of the wrestling promotion.
The show already said that Brock Lesnar would be in Ohio for the event alongside many other stars.
And he was the one to open the show for the night.
Opening Segment
The show began with Brock Lesnar making his way to the stage. He had scooped up Michael Cole on the way, but dropped him into the ring unceremoniously. Corey Graves had come in to help his commentary partner, but got an F-5 from Lesnar instead. He says that he’s coming for John Cena and tomorrow is D-Day, while walking around the ring and knocking over the Prime hydration station.
He then proceeds to do another F-5 on Graves before going off stage. Backstage he reunites with Paul Heyman before finally leaving.

But a Natural Selection from Flair on Chelsea Green ends the match in favor of the reigning title holders.

Bron ‘n Bron Connection (Bron Breakker & “Big” Bronson Reed) vs. Fraxiom (Axiom & Nathan Frazer)
The match was suddenly made official by Nick Aldis after Bron ‘n Bron Connection tried to pick a fight with Fraxiom. He says if they start a fight, they will have to see it through. It ends as soon as it starts though, as Bronson Reed hits a Tsunami on Nathan Frazer to win the fight. Bron ‘n Bron Connection wins via pinfall.
Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton share the stage to share a conversation in front of the audience. Jade Cargill is here too and starts decking security to get to the ring. Nick Aldis appears to stop the fight from escalating, and books a triple threat match for the title for next week's show.
Carmelo Hayes vs. Sami Zayn
The next challenger for the WWE United States Championship is Carmelo Hayes. While they both have a certain power, Sami Zayn is the one in control.
He finally ends the fight with the Blue Thunder Driver and takes the win to retain his championship. Kit Wilson, who was also there, gets hit in the crossfire, as Priest chokeslams him into the wall. Solo Sikoa cuts a promo alongside Tonga Loa talking about family and loyalty. The last segment of the show is the contract signing between challenger Drew McIntyre and WWE Undisputed Champion, Cody Rhodes. Referees and security get involved to pry them apart. We will see them at Wrestlepalooza. Also Read: "That is not true."—Former WWE star Brandi Rhodes clears the air on Cody Rhodes' flirting story
