WWE SmackDown Results & Highlights (6/6/25):  John Cena & Logan Paul make a huge statement, Seth Rollins & his unit goes unhinged and more

The June 6th edition of SmackDown took place at the Dignity Health Arena in Bakersfield, California. This was the go-home show for WWE's upcoming PLE, Money in the Bank, and featured the final buildups with competitors booked for the show.

It ended with John Cena and Logan Paul standing tall over their Money in the Bank opponents, Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso following a huge statement.

Opening segment with Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins opened the show with his faction and talked about his Money in the Bank ladder match the night after. He is confronted by Solo Sikoa and his Bloodline. Both sides exchanged some heated words, and Rollins tried to cause friction between Sikoa and Fatu. As Rollins and his cohorts left, Jimmy Uso attacked the Bloodline from behind.

Jimmy Uso vs J.C. Matteo

This was the opening contest of SmackDown. Both men landed heavy moves on each other and delivered a good showdown. The ending saw some altercations between Jacob Fatu and J.C. Matteo, which led to Matteo accidentally taking him out. Uso came from behind and rolled him up for the win.

Zelina Vega vs Piper Niven

This was a Bakersfield brawl and a non-title match. Piper Niven had Chelsea Green and Alba Fyre by her side. The match was action-packed and saw both women utilize the stipulation involving foreign objects.

Moreover, both competitors delivered some jaw-dropping moves, and Niven's cohorts constantly caused interferences. The ending of the match saw Giulia taking out Green, Fyre, and then Niven with a kendostick.

Vega planted Niven on a table and covered her for the pin. However, right after, she attacked Vega and held the Women's US title.

LA Knight vs Aleister Black

This was a singles match. LA Knight and Aleister Black produced a highly captivating and physical showdown with some incredible feats of wrestling displayed.

The match was spectacular, and it was evident from the 'This is Awesome' chants by the audience in Bakersfield. However, the bout came to a halt as Seth Rollins came down to the ring to Stomp LA Knight, causing a disqualification. As he was going for another one, Aleister Black stopped him, but fell to a thunderous spear by Bron Breakker, who did the same to LA Knight as well.

Stephanie Vaquer, Rhea Ripley & Alexa Bliss vs. Giulia, Naomi & Roxanne Perez

This was a six woman tag team match between the competitors of the Women's Money in the Bank ladder match.

Both teams went to war against each other ahead of the high-stakes ladder match tomorrow night with crowd erupting in a loud 'This is Awesome' chant. The final moments of the bout saw chaos erupt between both sides. As Roxanne Perez attempted to tag Naomi, who refused. This led to Perez taking the finisher from both Stephanie Vaquer and Rhea Ripley with Mami scoring the pinfall for her team.

Andrade El Idolo & Penta vs Creed Brothers

This tag team match was made following a backstage altercation between the two sides.

It was a classic display of tag team wrestling which garnered the fans' attention. Towards the end, Chad Gable tried to interfere on behalf of his American Made faction, but was stopped by his WWE x AAA World Collide opponent, El Hijo del Vikingo. This led to Penta hitting the Mexican Destroyer on Julius Creed to win the match. However, both Penta and Andrade El Idolo were attacked by Seth Rollins and his faction after their victory.

Main Event segment

After Seth Rollins' attack, Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso came down to the ring. This was followed by John Cena's entrance. He was being introduced by the ring announcer in his classic style as Logan Paul launched a sneak attack on Jey Uso. Cena followed with an attack on Rhodes and both men this week got the upperhand over their Money in the Bank opponents.
