Xiaomi launches Redmi Turbo 5 smartphone with 1.5K AMOLED display and 7,540mAh battery: Price, features and more

Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Turbo 5 smartphone in India, bringing the Redmi Turbo series to the country for the first time. The smartphone comes with the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra processor, a 7,540mAh battery, 100W fast charging support and a 50MP Sony main camera.

It also features a 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and runs on Xiaomi HyperOS 3. Xiaomi said the device is designed for users who need strong performance for gaming, content creation, multitasking and everyday use. The company is also promising four years of Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates.

Redmi Turbo 5 features and specifications

The Redmi Turbo 5 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset. It supports LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage for faster app loading and multitasking.

The smartphone features Redmi's 3D IceLoop cooling system and Game Turbo Wild Boost optimisations. Xiaomi said the device supports 120fps gaming in more than 20 supported titles.The phone packs a 7,540mAh battery, which Xiaomi says is the largest battery ever used in a Redmi smartphone in India. It supports 100W HyperCharge and can charge up to 51% in 30 minutes. The device also supports 27W reverse charging.For photography, the Redmi Turbo 5 includes a 50MP Sony IMX882 primary camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS) and electronic image stabilisation (EIS).

It supports 4K video recording at 60fps. The phone also features Turbo Snap burst mode, which can capture up to 100 photos in 4.4 seconds.On the front, the device sports a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with up to 3,500 nits peak brightness. The screen supports a 120Hz AdaptiveSync refresh rate, Dolby Vision, 12-bit colour depth and 3,840Hz PWM dimming. The smartphone comes with dual stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio support.Other features include IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance, Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection, Xiaomi HyperAI features, Google Gemini integration, Circle to Search and Xiaomi HyperConnect.
