Yatra Suvidha Diwas celebrated

Belagavi: Belagavi MP Jagadish Shettar said that the construction of the new terminal building at Sambra Airport in Belagavi is in the final stage and will be inaugurated in the next two months. More flights of various companies will be allowed to fly, he said.

He was inaugurating the grand Yatra Suvidha Diwas programme at the Sambra Airport in Belagavi on Monday. Folk dance, singing and rangoli competitions organised by the students of Sky Training School, in collaboration with the Kannada and culture department, attracted special attention. Many programmes, including a blood donation camp and free medical treatment, were organised at the Sambra Airport throughout the day. The Kala Nadige Nimma Kadege programme, jointly sponsored by the department of Kannada and Culture, govt of Karnataka, and the Airports Authority of India, attracted visitors’ attention. S Thiyagarajan, director of Belagavi Airport, spoke. Belagavi regional commissioner Janaki KM and Vidyavati Bhajantri, deputy director of the department of Kannada and culture, were present. Artiste Rekha Hegde’s team performed a Bharatanatyam performance, and light music was presented by Satyanarayana and his team from Nadasudha Sugama Sangeet Academy. Folk artiste Goolappa Vijayanagara performed ‘Veeragase’.
