There will be a significant reduction in the rainfall activity across the State from Friday with the weather systems over the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal moving away from the region of Kerala.
The depression over the Arabian Sea is moving away from the coast of Kerala, while the well-marked low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal is likely to intensify into a depression off the north Tamil Nadu and south Andhra Pradesh coasts during the next 12 hours, according to a weather bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday. Thereafter, it is likely to move across north Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and south Andhra Pradesh coasts during the subsequent 12 hours.
A yellow alert has been issued for nine districts, Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod, on Thursday (October 23, 2025), where isolated heavy rain is likely. On Friday, the rain will be majorly limited to north Kerala region alone.
