Light to moderate thundershowers are expected in various parts of Kerala for the next five days, influenced by the upper cyclonic circulations over the Bay of Bengal. An upper air cyclonic circulation lies over the central Bay of Bengal, while another over the north interior of Tamil Nadu and the neighbourhood, extending up to 3.1 km above mean sea level. This is likely to trigger isolated heavy showers in some parts of the State. A yellow alert has been issued for Thiruvananthapuram, Idukki, and Ernakulam on Tuesday, where isolated heavy showers are likely, according to a weather bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday.
