Parvathipuram MLA Bonela Vijayachandra said on Sunday that the practice of yoga is gaining popularity in rural and tribal areas with the Yogandhra-2025 initiative of the Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu-led government, adding that simple asanas can improve health and fitness for people of all ages.
He visited the yoga camps organised by the Indian Medical Association, Lions Club and other organisations in association with Parvathipuram-Manyam district administration. During his visit he told officials to conduct more yoga camps across all mandals of Parvathipuram. He said that yoga is beneficial to all age groups, including the youth who face health issues due to changing lifestyles.

Meanwhile, Collector A. Shyam Prasad has directed officials to encourage people to enrol in the Yogandhra portal, as the programme will continue for a few more weeks. He said, “Meritorious practitioners will be given certificates and awards on the International Yoga Day, which is on June 21.”
