The Buffalo Bills walked off the field devastated with a 33–30 overtime loss to the Denver Broncos in the Divisional Round. While every member of the Bills felt the setback and disappointment, QB Josh Allen visibly shaken, took full responsibility and blamed the loss on the mistakes he made during the game.Allen did not shy away from facing reporters and pointing out every error he made that pulled down their hopes of a big victory. The QB, with tears in his eyes reflected on how he let his teammates down and how the loss is going to haunt him for a long time. However, his mates, including Dion Dawkins, came in support of Allen despite his harsh statements.

Allen shoulders blame as teammates push back against harsh self-criticism

At the post-game interview, Josh Allen was extremely critical of his performance, saying, “It's extremely difficult, feel like I let my teammates down… Just missed opportunities throughout the game.

It’s been a long season. I hate how it ended. It’s gonna stick with me for a long time.” He further reflected on the errors he made throughout the game and how it shoot down their winning chances.

When asked about the five total turnovers by the Bills, Allen offered a blunt assessment. “Yeah, can’t win with five turnovers. I fumbled twice, threw two picks. You shoot yourself in the foot like that, you don’t deserve to win football games.”

The QB was extremely emotional as he went through his self-loathing following the loss. Another costly moment came late in the second quarter when Allen fumbled, allowing Denver to kick a field goal as time expired and take a 20-10 halftime lead. Despite Allen’s harsh self-evaluation, his teammates stood firmly behind him. Left tackle Dion Dawkins struggled to hold back emotion when told what Allen said about letting the team down.He said, "We love (Allen). We're thankful for him. He didn’t let us down." The loss also extended a tough trend for Buffalo as Allen and head coach Sean McDermott are now 0–3 in postseason overtime games. For a franchise still searching for its breakthrough moment, the latest loss was a big blow for them and they are still reeling from the loss.
