Youngster killed, another injured in Gachibowli road crash

A 25-year-old man was killed and another sustained injuries in a road accident near the IIIT Junction in Gachibowli early on Saturday (May 31).

The deceased was identified as A Durga Kiran, an electrician and resident of P Janardhan Reddy Nagar of Gachibowli. The pillion rider was shifted to a private hospital in the vicinity and is currently undergoing treatment.

According to the Gachibowli Inspector Mohd Habubullah Khan, the accident was reported at around 4.30 a.m. when a tipper lorry, travelling from Gachibowli towards Beeramguda, rammed into a motorcycle from the rear. The duo fell down due to the impact of the collision and Kiran died on the spot due to excessive bleeding from injuries on his head. The bystanders alerted the police, who reached the spot. A case was booked and efforts are underway to trace the lorry driver.
