A 25-year-old autorickshaw driver was allegedly stabbed to death by three men near Sundaragiri, Kalamassery, on Wednesday night following a dispute over sharing the expenses of alcoholic drinks, the police said.
Vivek Vinodkumar was allegedly assaulted by Sanoj, Prasad, and Joel, all residents of Kalamassery, around 11.30 p.m. in front of his rented house. He was allegedly stabbed on the chest during the commotion and was admitted to the Kalamassery Medical College Hospital. He succumbed to the injuries later at night.
The accused were nabbed from Vyttila and were charged with murder under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The police said that Vivek, Sanoj, and Prasad had drunk together earlier in the day, and there was an altercation among them over sharing the expenses. Sanoj and Prasad along with another friend Joel went to Vivek’s house later again demanding money from him. The second round of altercation led to the murder, the police said.
