Youth feared drowned in a swollen stream in Adilabad

A youth was washed away in the swirling waters of a local stream at Nishanghat area on the outskirts of Adilabad town on Thursday.

According to sources, the incident occurred when the youth had gone to catch fish in the stream late in the afternoon. The identity of the missing youth is yet to be ascertained.

A video showing the youth being swept away by the gushing waters in the stream has gone viral on social media. In the video, some local residents can be heard advising the youth, caught in swirling waters, to move towards the other side of the stream to reach the shore.

A search operation was launched to trace the missing youth when reports last came in.
