The YSRCP on Sunday (November 9) accused the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government in the State of deceiving employees and failing to keep its promises on key welfare measures. Former Minister for Finance Buggana Rajendranath said that while government publicity campaigns are in full swing, employees are being denied their rightful benefits.

Addressing a press conference in Hyderabad, YSRCP leader pointed out that four Dearness Allowance payments are pending, but the government released only one in November. “The DA that was due last November is being touted as a new release this year, and when employees expressed resentment, the government merely promised to pay the rest in instalments,” he said.

He alleged that pensioners, too, are facing similar neglect, as their pending dues are being cleared in phases with no definite timeline. Several other benefits, including arrears and provisions under the pension scheme, have not been implemented, leaving employees disheartened.

Mr. Rajendranath Reddy asserted that the previous YSRCP government had introduced multiple employee-friendly measures, but the current coalition, despite making tall claims before the elections, has failed to honour its commitments. He said that the government’s increasing focus on publicity rather than governance clearly exposes its indifference towards the welfare of its workforce.
