Karnataka dam gates fail: Flash flood threat looms as water gushes out

The district incharge minister, Shivaraj Sangade, confirmed that 'seven gates of Tuglapatra dam is not functioning'. This issue was previously discussed on the floor of the house, with the BJP questioning the Karnataka government's intent in rectifying the problem. Last year, gate number 19 also faced issues, causing worry among residents in the Tungabhadra water-based river region. Despite heavy rain reported in the area, no immediate solution has been found for the malfunctioning gates. The government has stated that the Central Water Committee has not addressed the issue.
