Former Minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) combined Nellore district president Kakani Govardhan Reddy, MLC Parvathareddy Chandrasekhar Reddy, ex-MLA Kiliveti Sanjeevaiah, other leaders along with party cadres, registered a complaint with the District Collector alleging several irregularities in Kavali constituency.

After submitting a petition to Collector O. Anand at PGRS meeting at the Collectorate on Monday, Mr. Govardhan Reddy spoke to the media. “The MLAs of the coalition parties are involved in corruption and illegal mining. If the YSRCP leaders question about the irregularities, illegal cases are being filed against them,” he alleged.

“Illegal cases were filed against YSRCP leader Ramireddy Pratap Kumar Reddy, who served the people of Kavali as an MLA for 10 years. A case of attempt to murder was registered against him when he went to inspect a quarry run by Kavali MLA at Annavaram village in Jaladanki mandal using a drone to find whether illegal excavations were taking place beyond the limits,” Mr. Govardhan Reddy added.

“It is ridiculous to register a case for using a drone to kill an MLA in an area where he was not present. As Pratap Kumar Reddy may get a bail in that case, another case of SC and ST atrocities was fabricated against him. Though we have requested the district SP on illegal cases being filed against the YSRCP leader, there has been no response from him,” Mr. Govardhan Reddy alleged.

He demanded to conduct an investigation on illegal mining activities at Annavaram quarry. The YSRCP leaders were put under house arrest by the police and checkposts were set up to prevent them from entering into the quarry, he said, announcing ‘Chalo Annavaram’ programme if no probe was initiated.
