Zelenskyy Accuses Putin Of 'Trying To Sell' Russia-Ukraine Ceasefire For ‘Highest Price’

Zelenskyy said that Ukraine will not give land to the occupier, adding that it “will not give Russia any awards for what it has done.”

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskyy on Saturday slammed Russian President Vladimir Putin ahead of the latter’s meeting with his US counterpart and said that he was ‘trying to sell the cessation of killings’.

In a video message on X, the Ukrainian president said, “First and foremost, there must be a just end to the war, and it depends on Russia. It is Russia that must end the war it started."

Zelensky stated that Ukraine and its allies share a common understanding on the necessity of a ceasefire and putting an end to the violence.

“Only one actor stands against this, Putin. His only card is the ability to kill, and he is trying to sell the cessation of killings at the highest possible price," he stated.

“Ukraine will not give land to the occupier," Zelenskyy said, adding it “will not give Russia any awards for what it has done."

“I have not heard any partners express doubts about America’s ability to ensure that the war ends," he said in the video message.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized confidence in the United States’ role in ending the war, saying, “I have not heard any partners express doubts about America’s ability to ensure that the war ends. The President of the United States has the levers and the determination."

He further noted Ukraine’s consistent support for US initiatives, stating, “Ukraine has supported all of President Trump’s proposals, starting back in February. Ceasefire, all formats have been supported."
