A road accident involving a DTC bus in Delhi’s Nangloi left one person dead and three injured, triggering outrage among locals. The bus was later set on fire.

A major commotion broke out in outer Delhi’s Nangloi area on Monday morning after a road accident involving a Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus left one person dead and three others injured, triggering violent protests by angry locals.
According to information from the spot, the accident occurred when a DTC bus collided with an e-rickshaw and pedestrians in the Nangloi area earlier in the day.
The incident led to panic and anger among people present at the scene, as several individuals were injured in the crash.
Three injured persons were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. However, one of them later succumbed to injuries.
Soon after the accident, tensions escalated as residents gathered at the location and began protesting.
Enraged locals vandalised the DTC bus involved in the accident, pelting stones and damaging the vehicle.
Visuals from the scene showed a large crowd gathered around the bus, with people shouting and hurling stones at the vehicle.
In some of the videos, broken glass can be seen scattered on the road as locals vent their anger over the accident. The footage also shows damaged windows of nearby vehicles, indicating the intensity of the protest.
The situation further escalated when the angry crowd set the DTC bus on fire.
Videos from the site show the bus engulfed in flames as thick black smoke rises into the air.
Flames could be seen spreading rapidly through the vehicle while people stood at a distance watching the blaze.
According to a report by news agency PTI, a Delhi Transport Corporation bus was vandalised and later set on fire by locals following the accident.
“A Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus was vandalised and set on fire by angry locals in outer Delhi’s Nangloi area on Monday after it allegedly ran over a pedestrian," police sources told PTI.
The incident caused chaos in the area as residents gathered at the spot and began damaging property.
“The incident triggered chaos in the area as residents gathered at the spot, pelted stones at the bus and damaged the windows of some vehicles," the report said.
The Delhi Fire Services (DFS) received information about the fire at around 10 am and rushed teams to the scene to control the blaze.
“A bus was found engulfed in flames, and the windows of some other vehicles were damaged. The fire was completely extinguished by 11 am," a DFS officer said, according to PTI.
Police teams and fire department personnel reached the spot soon after the incident was reported and worked to disperse the crowd.
Authorities managed to bring the situation under control and cleared the gathering from the area.
The injured individuals from the accident have been admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment, while police have launched an investigation to ascertain the exact sequence of events surrounding the accident and the subsequent violence.
