11 injured as bus hits tree in Belagavi

As many as 11 passengers were injured in a road accident in Nandagad near Khanapur of Belagavi district on Sunday morning.

The injured were travelling in a NWKRTC bus that hit a tree when the driver tried to avoid a car that suddenly crossed his way, the police said.

Nine among the injured, 20-year-old Jyoti Tahsildar, 17-year-old Shreyas Madar, 60-year-old Mehboobi Sanadi, 36-year-old Annapurna Hudedar, 27-year-old Sunita Kadabi, 28-year-old Manjula Hudedar, 28-year-old Pavitra Hudedar, 37-year-old Shivani Ambewadkar and 35-year-old Sheela Mitagara, have been admitted to the District Hospital in Belagavi.

The bus was going to Bidi from Khanapur. The driver of the car is absconding. A case been registered in the Nandagad Police Station.
