INDORE: At least 110 students fell ill after consuming food served at a private school in Madhya Pradesh's Indore, prompting authorities to launch an investigation into the incident, officials said on Monday.According to officials, the affected students from Classes 1 to 5 of Shishukunj International School had eaten their regular lunch at the school on Saturday, according ro news agency PTI. By evening, many of them began complaining of stomach pain and vomiting.Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Deepak Chauhan said the symptoms continued for several children on Sunday, leading many parents to seek medical consultation.

Some children were treated at home by their parents, who are doctors."The children mainly experienced symptoms of vomiting and stomach pain, but no child is currently hospitalised," Chauhan said.He added that the food department had collected samples of all ingredients used in preparing the meal and sent them for laboratory testing. Further action will be taken after the test reports are received.The school's vice principal, Kamayani Chauhan, said students were served "rajma, a vegetable, rice, roti, and ice cream for lunch" on Saturday."More than 3,200 people eat at our school every day. We ensure the highest quality of food at the institution," she said, adding that the school was also conducting its own inquiry into the incident.
