Two of these toppers are from Mumbai. The state’s CET cell also announced the results for the second attempt for the physics-chemistry-biology (PCB) group on Thursday. While this attempt saw only four students scoring the perfect 100 percentile, as fewer students appeared for it, Jheel Chheda, from Palghar, bagged the perfect score in the exam in both the attempts. The govt has allowed students two attempts for the first time this year, giving them an opportunity to improve their scores.
The higher score will be used for admissions to engineering, pharmacy and agriculture courses.Around 2.85 lakh students appeared for the PCM group in the second attempt, suggesting that a significant number of the 4.54 lakh students from the first attempt did not retake the exam. In the PCB group, too, fewer students attempted the second exam - 95,631.In the PCM group, toppers from Mumbai included Ipshita Nikale and Harshvardhan Patil, and in the PCB group, Raushmeet Gupta, from Mumbai was among the four state toppers.
The percentage of girl students taking the PCB group was higher, when compared to the PCM.Like JEE (Main), the state’s CET cell did not come out with a combined merit list. With both the attempts put together, there are, in all, 38 students bagging the perfect 100 score, and in PCB, the total number of toppers are 14. Once the schedule for the centralised admission process (CAP) is out, students will register for the process and a merit list will be released, based on the applications.
