13 held in excise raids in Eluru

The Nuzvid Prohibition and Excise raided belt shops (unauthorised liquor shops) and arrested 13 people who were running the shops. The Eluru, Nuzvid and Kaikalur Excise and Task Force conducted raids in Nuzvid Town, Musunuru, Agiripalli and Chatrai mandals, said Excise officer Avulaiah. The officials also seized the liquor from the shops. Stern action would be taken against those selling liquor illegally, Mr. Avulaiah said.
