A portion of an under-construction building collapsed at a project site in Pune on Wednesday, trapping an estimated 15 to 20 labourers beneath the debris. The site, located in Pimpri-Chinchwad’s Moshi area, is part of a Waste-to-Energy project.
According to a report by the Free Press Journal, a rescue operation is underway to evacuate those trapped under the collapsed structure.
The project is being developed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model on behalf of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC). Fire brigade personnel, police and disaster management teams have rushed to the spot, while ambulances have been kept on standby.
