18-mnth-old girl drowns in bucket while playing at home in MP

An 18-month-old girl died after accidentally drowning in a bucket filled with water at her home in Madhya Pradesh’s Maihar district on Tuesday. The incident took place in the Ramnagar area.Police identified the child as Kavya Kol, the youngest daughter of Sanjay Kol, a resident of ITI area.According to police, Kavya was playing at home in the morning when she apparently lost her balance and fell into a bucket filled with water. Her mother had left for work around 8 am. The child’s two elder sisters were also away from the house for some time to fetch water.When the mother returned home about three hours later, she found the toddler submerged in the bucket. Family members immediately pulled the child out and rushed her to a hospital. Doctors examined her and declared her dead.After receiving information, Ramnagar police reached the spot and registered a case of unnatural death. Further investigation is underway.
