Rajasthan Day, or Rajasthan Diwas, celebrations have begun across the state to mark the formation of Rajasthan. While the day is traditionally observed on March 30 each year, in 2026 the celebrations are being held on March 19. The change comes because the date coincides with the first day of Shukla Paksha of the Hindu month of Chaitra, which historically corresponds to the formation of Greater Rajasthan, inaugurated by Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel on March 30, 1949.
