JSS Medical College will confer degrees on 195 MBBS graduates at its Graduates’ Reception Ceremony scheduled for April 4 at 4 p.m. on its campus.
The ceremony will recognise academic excellence, with six meritorious students set to receive 11 gold medals and 12 cash prizes. As part of the tradition, graduating students will take the Hippocratic Oath, reaffirming their commitment to ethical medical practice.
The event will be attended by Shivarathri Deshikendra Swami, while JSS Mahavidyapeeta executive secretary C.G. Betsurmath will preside. JSS AHER Pro-Chancellor B. Suresh and Basavanagowdappa, Vice-Chancellor, JSS AHER will also be present.
M.K. Ramesh, president of the Medical Assessment and Rating Board, National Medical Commission, will attend as the chief guest and present awards to the achievers.
Dr. Ramesh, a distinguished surgeon, earlier served as the Vice-Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. JSS Medical College principal Narayanappa shared the details of the graduation at a press conference here on Thursday.
Sudheendra Bhat, Controller of Examinations, JSS AHER, JSS Hospital director Madhu and others were present.
In addition to student honours, faculty members will be recognised through awards such as the Best Teacher Award, Research Excellence Awards, and the Prof. Y.T. Thathachari Endowment Prize for Best Research Publication (2025).
The college, a constituent of JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research, has been ranked among the top 40 medical colleges in India by NIRF for nine consecutive years. The university has also secured a top 100 global position in Pharmacy and Pharmacology. With over 6,000 MBBS graduates and 2,600 postgraduate doctors produced so far, the institution continues to contribute to the healthcare workforce in India and abroad, according to a release.
