Shillong: Meghalaya Police arrested six people, including two alleged kingpins from Haryana, over three ATM robberies of around Rs 1 crore in Meghalaya. The accused from Haryana have been brought back to the state to face trial.The six accused arrested are Haryana residents Salim (36) and Rahul (31), Shillong residents John Fishal Lyngkhoi (32) and Joyous Dura (47), and Assam residents Rejaul Korim (38) and Lius Ali (28).East Khasi Hills SP Vivek Syiem said a special cell traced Salim and Rahul to Haryana’s Nuh district and arrested them on March 10. Both were granted five days of police custody. On Thursday, another police team arrested Rejaul Korim and Lius Ali from Assam. Local facilitators John Fishal Lyngkhoi and Joyous Dura were apprehended in Shillong and remanded to six days of police custody.The six accused were involved in looting Rs 28.13 lakh from an ATM at Mawkriah on May 21, 2025, Rs 35.57 lakh at Smit on Dec 30, 2025 and Rs 35 lakh at Mylliem on Feb 8, 2026 — all in Meghalaya.
