Kendrapada: Two miscreants were arrested on Sunday in Jajpur district for allegedly stealing two-wheelers in the district and nearby areas. Police seized six stolen bikes from them.Those arrested have been identified as Raja Bindhani of Keonjhar district’s Ramachandrapur village and Subhasagar Tudu of Jajpur road.On July 13, Gulzar Ahmed Khan of Tarakota village under Korei police station limits lodged an FIR alleging that some unidentified persons had stolen a bike from his house after breaking open the gate.“Acting on the complaint, we launched an investigation and arrested the accused. The arrested confessed to have stealing several two-wheelers in the recent past,” said Rakesh Tripathy, IIC of Korei police station. The accused were produced in the local court on Sunday and remanded in judicial custody after the court rejected their bail applications.Police suspect the involvement of some garage owners in the bike theft cases. In some garages, they change the number plates and colours of the bikes, police said.
