2 men hacked to death in Tamil Nadu; police probe revenge angle linked to DMK functionary’s murder

CHENNAI: Two men were hacked to death by an unidentified gang in the middle of the night at a house on Thulasinga Mudaliar Street in Tirusulam, near Pallavaram. According to reports, the two youths were sleeping inside the house when an unknown gang arrived at midnight, hacked both men to death and fled the scene.The incident came to light at 4.15 am when few residents noticed them lying in a pool of blood. Pallavaram police rushed to the spot. The bodies of the victims were recovered and sent to Tambaram Government Hospital for post-mortem examination.Police have registered a case and launched an investigation. Police identified the deceased as Arumugham, 20 and Santhosh.During the investigation, police revealed that Arumugham was linked to the murder of a DMK functionary that took place last year in Sunguvarchatram near Sriperumbudur.Police are currently investigating whether the double murder was an act of revenge for the earlier killing or if there was another motive behind the attack.
