Meerut: Two more accused were arrested in a case involving forged royalty slips and fake transport documents used for the illegal transportation of minor minerals, officials said on Monday.Police had earlier arrested Mohd Tasavvar on July 1. Acting on the directions of Saharanpur SSP, Behat police arrested the two wanted accused – Mobeen alias Champat and Parvez – from Malakpur Canal Road on Sunday.The case was registered on July 1 on a complaint by mining inspector Abhilash Chaubey, who alleged that two trucks were transporting sandstone and quartzite aggregate using fake transit permits resembling genuine mining documents, causing a loss to the state exchequer.The FIR names the vehicle owner, the drivers and others allegedly linked to a stone crusher unit and the preparation of forged documents.Circle officer Priya Yadav of Behat said, “Tasavvar, a resident of Tidauli village in Saharanpur district, was arrested on July 1 and sent to jail. On Sunday, the Behat police team arrested two more wanted accused in the case (both residents of Tidauli village). Necessary legal formalities are being completed.”
An FIR has been registered under BNS Sections 318(4) (cheating and dishonestly inducing a person to deliver property), 338 (forgery of a valuable security) 336(2) and 340(2), Rules 3(1), 72(6) and 58 of the Uttar Pradesh Minor Mineral Concession Rules, 2021, Section 3(2) of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act, and Sections 4 and 21 of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act..
