INDORE: Two women tied a street dog with a rope and dragged it on the road while riding a scooter in Ratlam, leaving it injured and triggering outrage after a video of the incident surfaced online.In the footage, the puppy can be seen being pulled behind the moving scooter as it struggles on the road. The woman seated pillion is seen looking at the dog as it is dragged along bound by the rope in her hands. Residents present in the area shouted at the women and asked them to stop, but they continued riding without halting.The incident was reported from near the posh Lal Bagh colony of Ratlam. The video surfaced on the night of March 6 and quickly spread among locals.

Later the same night, local journalists searched for the injured puppy in Lal Bagh colony and found it sitting at one spot, frightened and badly hurt from the dragging. Residents arranged treatment for the dog after noticing its injuries.Police registered an FIR late Friday night after receiving a complaint from journalists. Industrial Area police station in-charge Satyendra Ghanghoria said the case has been registered against two women — Deepika, wife of Nitesh Patidar, and Pooja, wife of Shravan Panchal — and further investigation is underway.
