US Secretary of State Marco Rubio hailed the ties between India and the United States, describing them as the cornerstone of Washington’s approach towards the Indo-Pacific. He also shared that India and the US had expanded cooperation in several areas, including trade and defence.
Speaking at the US Embassy Support Annex Building dedication ceremony in Delhi, Rubio said, “We’ve expanded commercial ties with more than $20 billion in investments from Indian companies in the United States. We’ve deepened a security partnership through military exercises in the Indo-Pacific."
He also praised the personal relationship between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump, saying they were focused on the long term.
