Minister for Revenue, Registration and Stamps Anagani Satya Prasad assured farmers that the government is committed to issuing error-free pattadar passbooks. He said 21 lakh new passbooks are ready for distribution after thorough verification of land records.

The Minister criticized the previous government for printing passbooks carrying former Chief Minister’s photograph and alleged that many errors in land records originated from its hurried re-survey process. He clarified that reports claiming ‘50 percent errors’ in the new passbooks were baseless. “Not a single faulty passbook has been issued by our government,” he asserted.

Mr. Satya Prasad said gram sabhas were conducted in 6,688 re-surveyed villages, leading to the resolution of 2.79 lakh applications, while revenue meetings in 17,600 villages addressed another 1.85 lakh cases. Farmers were also given four months to submit fresh applications for corrections, which were incorporated into the Live Webland database. The final printed passbooks are being re-verified at the Joint Collector’s office level before distribution, he added.

The Minister assured farmers that corrections, if required even after issuance, would be made free of cost. He also clarified that bank loans are sanctioned through the Webland loan charge module, not the passbook itself.
