A total of 28 individuals were arrested, and 22 cases were booked by the Cyberabad Enforcement Wing during a series of raids conducted between January 1 and April 21, 2026, targeting food adulteration and illegal food manufacturing across the commissionerate. Adulterated food items, along with machinery and vehicles, valued at approximately ₹64.07 lakh were seized during the raids.
The operation focused on a wide range of food categories, including bakery and cake products, sweets and namkeen, edible oils, wheat flour, ginger-garlic paste, meat products, ice creams, sauces and the illegal reuse of cooking oil. Investigations revealed widespread violations, with several units using expired ingredients, synthetic food colours and unsafe chemicals, while operating in unhygienic conditions without valid Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) or trade licences.
