26 injured as speeding bus rams into truck in Jhansi

Jhansi: At least 26 passengers were injured, nine of them critically, after a speeding private bus rammed into a container truck on the Jhansi-Lalitpur highway on Friday.The impact partially overturned the container, blocking the highway for several hours.Eyewitnesses said the accident occurred when the bus driver attempted to overtake the container near Babina.Locals and police rescued the injured and took them to a nearby community health centre. Nine critically injured passengers were later referred to Jhansi Medical College.Circle officer (Sadar) Priya Singh said the bus driver was arrested and booked for negligent driving.
