The city is gearing up for Kollam Pooram, the grand finale of the 10-day annual festival of Asramam Sri Krishna Swamy Temple, on April 16. The festival, which serves as a major cultural landmark for the district, draws thousands of spectators from across the State to witness the seamless blend of devotion and artistic tradition. The festivities will commence at 9 a.m. with the arrival of cheru poorams (miniature processions) from various regional temples, converging at the Asramam grounds.

A series of traditional rituals for the elephants will follow, including the ana neerattu (elephant bath) at 11 a.m. and the aana oottu (ceremonial feeding) at noon.
