Indore: A 26-year-old man succumbed to injuries after being stabbed allegedly over an old rivalry in Banganga police station area late on Friday night.The man, Vishal alias Nanu Verma of Rafeli in Bhagirathpura, was rushed to MY Hospital in a critical condition but died during treatment.Police said Vishal was conscious when he was brought to the hospital and had disclosed details about the assailants to them while undergoing treatment. Based on his statement, investigators began identifying those involved in the attack.ACP Rubina Mizwani said the victim’s statement recorded during treatment had provided crucial leads in the case. Police have registered a case.Preliminary investigation revealed that Vishal and the accused had been at loggerheads for some time.
The dispute is believed to have escalated on Friday night when the attackers first confronted him and later stabbed him before fleeing the spot.Officials said some of the accused are believed to be minors. Raids are being carried out to trace them and their family members are also being questioned to gather information about their whereabouts.CCTV footage from the surrounding area is being examined to reconstruct the sequence of events and establish the exact motive behind the murder. Police said the circumstances leading to the attack would become clearer after the accused are arrested.
